How to get to Antarctica
Contrary to popular belief, reaching the White Continent is not limited to sailing. While crossing the challenging Drake Passage is considered a rite of passage, you can opt for Fly/Sail itineraries to bypass it, weather permitting. Starting and ending points are Argentina's Ushuaia and Chile's Punta Arenas, both located in the picturesque Patagonia region.
If you choose a ship, your expedition will commence and conclude in Ushuaia, with purpose-built ships ensuring comfort and safety, especially during the Drake Passage crossing. If flying is preferred, the journey starts from Punta Arenas to King George Island, where Zodiac boats await to transport you to the vessels, such as the Greg Mortimer or Sylvia Earle.
