MS Fridtjof Nansen | Antarctica Expedition Ship

The newest addition to our fleet pays homage to Fridtjof Nansen, Nobel Peace Prize-winning explorer, scientist and Nobel Peace Prize recipient from Norway. Nansen was known for his Arctic Expeditions and the fact that he first crossed Greenland on skis. The Fram Expedition took place in 1893-1896. It is arguably the most well-known of his expeditions. After Nansen’s expedition it is fascinating to see that Roald Amundsen purchased the ship, and prepared secretly for an Antarctica Expedition. There are many highlights on the ship, such as a Science Center. Fitness Center. and Wellness Center. The ship also has multiple restaurants, Hot tubs, Pools, Saunas and Bars. WiFi is available as well.
